Hi, I’m Laurel — a visual storyteller focused on clarity, narrative, and impact.
I grew up in a small town in Northern Idaho, where community matters and conversations come easily. That grounding shaped how I work today: collaboratively, thoughtfully, and with genuine care for the people on the other side of the design. While my roots are small-town, my creative path has been shaped by exploration, both in how I think and how I move through the world.
I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art & Design from the University of Idaho and began my career designing at REI, where I built a strong foundation in user-centered thinking, brand systems, and presenting design solutions with clarity and intention. Since then, my work has grown across product, marketing, and communications design, with a consistent focus on turning complex ideas into clear, compelling visual stories.
Today, I’m a Graphic Designer at Lightcast, where I design presentations and communication work that helps ideas travel farther. My work encompasses presentations, onboarding experiences, web design, data visualization, and scalable visual systems — all designed to bring structure to complexity and highlight exceptional work. I care deeply about supporting others, listening well, and creating design that makes teams feel confident in what they’re sharing, because what they’re building truly matters.
Outside of work, I’m most at home outdoors: snowboarding, golfing, stargazing, or simply noticing the details most people pass by. That same curiosity carries into my design practice: always refining, simplifying, and asking how something can communicate just a little better.
